Africa to America continues to live up to its reputation of being a powerful & dynamic performance. Yet, amazingly, Alicia Sunshine Gbaho, the director of Beyond Measure Dance Theater, has creatively added new components that deepens the historical timeline essential to black culture. The art of fusion is key! Beyond Measure’s main themes: time, culture, language and geography will allow audience members to travel with the performers through three main dance styles: West African, Jazz Swing & Hip Hop. Through the use of song, folk tales, dance, visual art and poetry written by the creator, our students participated in an educational and interactive celebration!
